“It’s Not What You Say, It’s How You Say It: Learning How To Deliver Your Message”
First and foremost, thank you for visiting my website and being part of this community of creators. I am pleased to be able to share information that is useful and helps others grow as a brand and business. I am a firm believer in community building and being able to pass on knowledge and learn from others and their experiences.
Building a website may sound terrifying when doing it alone, or it may sound exciting. And both might be for the same reason, because you have so much to say and don’t know how to encapsulate the information so it will be appealing to others, or make sense to them. When I was building my website, I realized how important it was to know how to deliver the information I need to put out there.
For example, I knew I wanted to introduce myself and tell my readers more about me, but I also wanted to share information about my services, and my clients, and my portfolio, and my blog… Phew… it was so much, I wasn’t sure how to organize the information so it wouldn’t overwhelm my audience and it would be engaging and informative. So, I started thinking from a viewer’s perspective. What would I want to see when I first enter the website? When would I be ready to contact the host? When would I become curious to see their work? And so these questions helped me build a flow in which to structure my site.
This applies to any site, be a website or a social media platform, where you are giving an audience information. You want to avoid confusing your audience with scattered information, or too much of it at once. Understanding your audiences’ through process and interests, at different times when navigating your site, can help you find a voice and a rhythm in which you can effectively deliver your message.
